Address Resolution Services - Many mailing lists our customers provide have "bad addresses", that is addresses that for various reasons do not match the postal database of known delivery addresses. These are mostly made up of undeliverable as addressed. With our new Address Resolution Service, we can take those incorrect or incomplete addresses and attempt to resolve them using various methods allowing you to contact more of your customers and save wasted postage and printing costs.
Flat Mail Deflection Standards - June 7, 2010 new standards for flat mail deflection take effect although there will be no changes to postage until October 3, 2010 for mailings failing the new standard. The new standards reduce flat "droop" by 1 inch less what is currently allowed. The Post Office is making this change to reduce poor feeding and jamming postal automation sorting equipment.
Alternatives for tabbed booklets - Many customers who produce booklets have not been happy with the new booklet tabbing requiment of applying three 1.5 inch to seal the piece closed. Looking for an alternative? Transform your booklet into a folded poster. A 22 by 25.5 inch poster has the same room for your print as a 24 page 5.5 by 8.5 inch booket and only requires a single one-inch tab!
Move Update Requirement Change - This is old news, but we still have new customers contacting us needing information on the Post Office's Move Update requirement. On November 23, 2008, a new Post Office Move Update requirement took effect. The new requirement increased the minimum frequency for Move Update processing from 185 days to 95 days prior to the date of the mailing. The new requirement was extended from only First-Class to include all Standard Mail - letters, flats, parcels and Not Flat-Machinables. We offer both 18 month and 48 month NCOA processing which meets the Move Update requirement.
Flat Mail Design Changes - More old news, but we recently had a company contact us with a flat mailpiece that was incorrectly designed and their local mailer couldn't do anything with. We were able to mail it by applying a pressure sensitive address label to top half of the mailpiece, but unfortunately it had to cover a small portion of printing. On March 29, 2009, the Post Office implemented new standards for flat mail address placement. This change will require the address block for Flat Mail to be located on the top half of mail piece. This change allows the Post Office to utilize the Flat Sequencing System which will increase the efficiency and speed of delivery. Please contact us for more information about address block placement on flat mailpieces.
Postage Rate Increase - Did I get your attention? The last postage increase was on May 11, 2009. Luckily the Post Office has suspended direct mail price increases this year so it will be 2011 before we have to worry about another increase! Here is a link to the Post Office's current postage price rates: http://pe.usps.com/PriceChange_May2009/PDF/PriceList/PriceList.pdf
